The Volkswagen ID.Buzz is one of the few vans on the market designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle. This makes it far more enjoyable to drive than most electric vans, with significantly lower energy consumption and a much greater range.

In real-world use, you can drive further between charges, recharge faster, and spend less overall.

Our base vehicle

We use the electric Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo as the base vehicle for our camper conversion. This allows us to minimise waste and maximise space.

The long wheelbase ID.Buzz People is less suitable as a camper base due to its weight and limited living and storage space, since this long wheelbase version is only available as the People version.

Safe and approved

Many of the components for the Outbase ID.Buzz are designed and engineered in-house, such as the rock-and-roll bed system (with Isofix attachment for child seats), the electric pop-top roof, and the swivel seats. These have been approved by the Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW) in line with strict European regulations. We are working hard to get approvals for all Europa in 2026.

We’re proud to be the first campervan manufacturer to have achieved these approvals for the ID.Buzz.

Generous payload

We ensure every build is safe and robust. Depending on the model, the total weight of the camper including conversion is between 2,500 and 2,750 kg. This leaves you with a payload of around 500 kg and ensures a safe axle load distribution.
